How a careful brand refresh from 2020 is still working hard today.
Great brand work doesn’t have an expiry date. The Histologix website remains a testament to our focus on building lasting brand systems rather than temporary trends.
The Project
In 2020 we worked with Histologix, a specialist contract research laboratory in Nottingham, on a brand refresh. They provide histology and pathology services to clients across pharmaceutical, academic and clinical research.
Consistency in every detail. Our print collateral for Histologix continues to project the precision and credibility required in the contract research industry.
It wasn’t a dramatic overhaul. Their existing mark had real heritage, so we started there. What they needed wasn’t a new look so much as a complete system, one that could grow with them, work across every context they operate in, and still feel credible years down the line.
A brand is more than a logo; it’s the sum of every touchpoint. We designed the Histologix stationery system to maintain a professional, trustworthy presence across every physical communication.
What We Built
The existing mark was a strong foundation, so we refined rather than replaced it, sharpening the visual language to give it the clarity and flexibility to work across a much wider range of applications.
From there we built outwards: exhibition graphics that could hold their own at industry events, stationery designed with the same care, social templates so the team could stay consistent online, and a website that pulled it all together. Every element considered in relation to the whole, because a brand is the sum of how an organisation shows up everywhere, not a logo on its own.
Built for longevity. Our work with Histologix shows how a considered brand system allows a business to communicate its specialist expertise with clarity and confidence, years after the initial launch.
Why it still works
Years later, the brand is still doing exactly what it was designed to do. It holds its own against competitors in the life sciences space, in a sector where precision and credibility are expected rather than admired. It hasn’t dated, and it hasn’t needed reinventing.
Competing for attention on the exhibition floor requires a brand that works. The Histologix exhibition system still stands strong, delivering the same professional impact today as it did at launch.
That was always the goal. Not something fashionable. Something lasting.
A brand that’s still working, without needing much intervention, is usually one that was built properly to begin with, as a system rather than a logo, with room to stretch as the organisation grows.
Thinking about a rebrand or refresh?
We’re always happy to talk it through.
